Background
Enterprise chemotherapy prescribing systems (ECPS) are increasingly implemented in Australian hospitals, however limited published information exists on training models and their efficacy for users in practice. South Australia implemented a statewide ECPS across 18 adult public hospitals to standardise chemotherapy prescribing and improve patient safety.  In the absence of a nationally adopted model or shared framework for onboarding ECPS users, a bespoke structured training program has been developed and utilised.

Methods
End user training was delivered through a blended model, combining self-paced online e-learning with instructor-led sessions conducted online or in person by system specialised pharmacists. Instructor-led sessions were role-based following a structured plan reflecting functionality and enterprise-wide workflows. The learning content was designed to provide the tools required to safely and confidently use the ECPS. A self-assessment was completed as the capstone for training to ensure user confidence. Ongoing support was provided through online resources and clinical support. To evaluate the training, an anonymous cross-sectional survey was distributed to users trained over six months. The survey used Likert-scales and open-ended questions about training relevance, delivery, and effectiveness.

Impact on Practice
Qualitative feedback supported the value of structured, role-based sessions. Respondents highlighted the need for all training model components and identified the instructor led session as most beneficial for their learning. Suggestions of incorporating case-based demonstration(s) were identified as an important enhancement for future training models. These insights support the need for consistency while also emphasising the benefit of practical, case-based learning. The survey has a response rate of 8%, limiting definitive conclusions of the efficacy of the program.

Discussion
This structured training program serves as an exemplar for sites training ECPS users. Our local training methods and user feedback contributes to the evidence base and encourages further discussion around the best way to deliver ECPS training.
