Background

Psycho-social care is acknowledged as a universal human right that should be accessible to all affected individuals. In view of the low recognition rate and insufficient response ability of clinicians to the psychological problems of cancer patients, the application research of AI in assisting the psychological diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients need to be carried out.

Methodology

The online automatic screening system for cancer patients' psychological diagnosis and treatment is based on the official WeChat account. The system can build a psychological screening tool, give corresponding suggestions, and guide cancer patients to accept psychological intervention. The online automated screening system has collected 3.23 million user messages so far, and the messages with potential psychological problems account for 2%.

Results

By analyzing online comments from 3.35 million WeChat public posts, we can identify keywords associated with potential psychological problems, achieving a screening rate of 3.8%. Clinical efficacy and data validation. Improvement of screening efficiency. The system has been operational for three years, having cumulatively analyzed 3.35 million messages, identified 127,000 pieces of potential psychological problem information, and reduced the intervention response time by 60%. It has been recognized as "innovative and forward-looking" solution.

Impact on practice

By concerning risk assessment and grading of psychological problems through cancer patients’ statements, improving the recognition rate of psycho-social problems, and providing medical treatment combined with clinical psychological consultation, it can reduce the threshold for cancer patients to accept psychological intervention and improve the efficiency of psychological treatment. Its advantages are manifested in that AI can significantly improve screening efficiency and make up for the insufficient coverage of traditional psychological services.

Conclusions

The practices of Hunan Cancer Hospital have shown that AI-assisted psychological therapy can effectively overcome the clinical challenges of providing psychological support to cancer patients, merging efficiency with humanistic care.
