Management of head and neck cancers (HNC) with radiation therapy is continuing to evolve as the other modalities so important in treating HNCs do too. We continue to attempt to define optimal care for those with HPV related cancers but there are many unanswered questions. We have new systemic therapies and exciting data around the efficacy of immunotherapy (IO) but now the challenge is how to best integrate into the management paradigm. AI poses both an opportunity but substantial risk. Survivors and their carers continue to face substantial challenges both during and after treatment, but we can better support patients and their carers these days with initiatives like those from Head and Neck Cancer Australia (HANCA).
