Good Decision-making with Artificial Intelligence in Hospital Settings: Safety, Efficacy, Evidence, and Ethics (#117)

AI algorithms in medicine have the potential to change the entirety of clinical care. However, many myths and unknowns prevail about their utility and safety for clinical use. Interdisciplinary knowledge from human factors, cognitive science, and bioethics can provide much needed guidance for impactful and equitable integration of AI into healthcare. This talk will cover clinician-AI interaction and decision-making from the four pillars of safety, efficacy, evidence, and ethics, and delve into the differences between AI and human decision-making.
