Australia and New Zealand have the highest worldwide incidence of multiple myeloma (MM), with new cases expected to increase by up to 90% over the next 20 years. MM is the most expensive cancer for the Australian healthcare system as it results in among the most severe physical function limitations and lowest quality of life of any cancer population. Many of the significant unmet care needs could theoretically be addressed using exercise medicine. However, the evidence to support this statement are mixed. This presentation will outline the safety, feasibility, efficacy, and experiences of exercise for people with MM.
