Benimana Mr. Darius

Mr. Darius BENIMANA is a medical student at the University of Rwanda. He is a volunteer at Rwanda Cancer Relief and has worked with Kundwa Health on mental health activities. Darius is an active member of the Medical Students' Association of Rwanda, serving as the Capacity Building Assistant Development in the Standing Committee on Research Exchange, Vice Mentorship Coordinator at FIRAT-SRG, GHU Director at Globemed in Rwanda, and IFMSA Trainer on Research and Professional Exchange. Darius BENIMANA is a junior researcher with multiple projects on cancer and palliative care, student involvement in cancer care services, non-communicable diseases, and others. He has written a blog post entitled "Cancer Care Among Healthcare Students: A Key Towards Building a Sustainable Cancer Care System in Rwanda." He is a passionate cancer advocate who has participated in radio cancer awareness talks on more than three radio stations and community outreaches in Huye and Gisagara districts. Darius is a board member of Medcancer Initiative Rwanda, a youth-led organization that raises awareness about cancer in Rwanda by involving young healthcare providers, capacitating them with cancer skills, providing opportunities for them to participate, and training them to become successful cancer advocates.
