Ms. Savita Goswami is a Clinical Psychologist working in the specialised area of psycho- oncology and palliative care in the Psycho-oncology service in Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH), Mumbai in India, since the last 29 years. She has been instrumental in developing and expanding Psycho-Oncology services in TMH. She has a keen interest in survivorship care, and paediatric psycho-oncology, especially adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer. She has been working closely with the hospital Neuro-Oncology Disease Management Group on neurocogntive assessment for patients with brain tumours receiving radiation therapy and has several publications in this area. She has an avid interest in conducting support groups for cancer patients and their caregivers and does a monthly group for brain tumour patients. She is an active member of the Survivors Clinic run since 29 years in the hospital. She is also a mentor for childhood cancer survivors support group. She has several publications to her credit, mainly in the area of neurocogntive functioning of brain tumour patients and childhood cancer survivorship issues. She is involved in research work in psycho-oncology and has done research on caregivers’ distress in palliative care. She is faculty in national and international training programmes, in both Psycho-oncology, Palliative care and Survivorship care for educational programmes for doctors, nurses, psychologists and social workers. She runs training programmes for nursing staff in oncology and conducts workshops for staff working in the hospital as part of service of Psycho-oncology Department. She has been awarded for her dedicated service in cancer care, by V Care foundation which is a nongovernmental organization. Her interest lies in expressive arts therapy, especially drama therapy. She herself is an accomplished national fellowship award winning theater actress and has been part of a social drama themed motion picture in Marathi (Champions), which won a national award.
