Annaliese Alexakis
Annaliese is a combined Master of Clinical Psychology and PhD candidate at the University of New South Wales, Sydney. Her research aims to deepen our understanding of how the gut and the brain interact, with a particular focus on how this relationship might impact development. Her PhD project explores the link between the gut microbiome and the cognitive and psychological side effects of chemotherapy in adolescents and young adults. She is passionate about improving quality of life outcomes for young people affected by cancer. This is her first time presenting at the COSA-IPOS Annual Scientific Meeting.
