Yijun Wang
My name is Wang Yijun, and I am a PhD student in Health Communication at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. My research interests lie in health communication, cancer survivorship, digital health and gender studies. My doctoral thesis investigates how Chinese young female cancer survivors cope with fertility-related concerns in the digital era. Drawing on feminist new materialism, I explore how digital technologies—particularly WeChat—entangle with bodies, emotions, and sociocultural discourses to shape survivors’ coping strategies and reproductive subjectivities. Through qualitative methods such as interviews and focus groups, my research aims to inform more context-sensitive digital support practices and reproductive health policies.
