Degree in Psychology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Specialist in
Clinical Psychology by the Professional School of Clinical Psychology at the
Hospital Clinic and the University of Barcelona (title later validated and official by
the Ministry of Education). Psychologist assistant of research in the Oncology
Department in the Clinic Hospital, Barcelona Doctor of Psychology at the
University of Barcelona, with the work entitled: "Changes in Quality of life and
psychological aspects in breast cancer patients through the first year after
diagnosis". Accredited as a lecturer, collaborator and advance research professor for the
Catalan (Spanish) University Quality Agency. Expert in Psychotherapy for the European
Federation of Psychotherapists. Director of Psychoncology at FEFOC Foundation,
where carries out several research projects (currently: cancer in the elderly: how to
improve the attitudes and knowledge of the elderly towards cancer, and
determination of the psychosocial consequences of breast cancer at medium and
long term survivorship, ecological validation of the FORT program to help patients coping with
Fear of Recurrence), psychological interventions (individual and group
psychotherapy, face-to-face, telephone and online) and training activities. She also
participates in public education activities. Professor in several universities:
University of Vic-Central of Catalonia (Campus UManresa), with the subject of
“Psychology and communication” in health sciences degrees; Universitat Oberta de
Catalunya (in Psychology degree); University of Barcelona: co-director and
professor and supervisor of the Master's Degree in Psychoncology. Professor in
courses and workshops on psychological aspects in cancer patients and
communication tools, for health professionals Reviewer of doctoral thesis and
currently supervisor of one doctoral thesis in the University of Barcelona (Faculty of
Psychology), and supervisor of 5 PhD projects of Mexico University. Author of
several chapters of professional books on psychological aspects in oncological
patients and families and in three informative books• Breast cancer odyssey: 703
questions, 703 answers", "Prostate cancer in heterosexual, gay and bisexual men"
(available in Spanish and in English); "Cancer in the elderly: a fragile taboo", and
one as the sole author: "Cancer: how to cope with the three crucial days"). She has
made several brochures, booklets and videos, lastly a 14 videos collection for
public education on Prostate cancer. She is author of 141 scientific articles, and
has presented more than 90 oral communications at national and international
conferences, where she has moderated symposiums. She is a reviewer of some
international journals and was one of the chairs of the Monograph on e-health and
Psychooncology in Psychooncology Journal. She is member of the Editorial Board
of the new Journal of Psychosocial Oncology: Research and Practice. She was the
national representative in the International Society for the Elderly and Cancer
(SIOG), from 2014 to 2016; and board member of Europe Uomo (European
Federation of Prostate Cancer) for the period 2021-2024. Founding partner in 1997
and current president of the SEPO Spanish Society of Psychology Oncology,
2021-2024) and member of the Committee of Accreditations of Psych oncology and
Palliative Care of the Official College of Psychologists. Stays abroad: at the
Psychooncology Unit of the Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton (with Dr. Maggie
Watson) and at the University of Haifa (with Dr. Miri Cohen) with a European
Community scholarship for the study of the repercussions of cancer in work status
of patients. Currently she has been accepted as a member of the OECI (Organisation of
European Cancer Institutes), program to assess and accredit centres in having their excellence in oncology according to European standards. She belongs to the Deep Dive allocated to Brno (Czech Republic)
