Krista Phillips 2025 Joint Meeting of the COSA ASM and IPOS Congress

Krista Phillips

Krista has worked as clinical social worker in a range of specialist areas since the early 90’s including 16 years within the chronic and complex care team at Bendigo Health as social worker and team leader, and now part time at REDHS. In 2022 she completed a Grad Dip in Sexology via Curtin University and in 2024/25 completed her Masters of Science in Medicine at Sydney Uni within the psychosexual therapy stream. The multifaceted aspects of sexuality make it such an interesting topic and something that is often taken for granted until our perception and experiences are changed or they challenge the mainstream assumptions. This can have a significant impact of people who use their sexuality for self-expression and interpersonal connection. The impact of change, aging and chronic disease on sexuality is a particular interest area and Krista is grateful for the learning she has gained from this project, and the future possibility of sharing knowledge and strengthening the clinical workforce via the Cancer and Sexual Wellbeing CoP. The initial CoP project was part of her Masters and was completed with the the support of the Loddon Mallee Intergrated Cancer Service and under the supervision of Dr Vijay Ramanathan, Sydney University.
