Suzanne Chambers

Professor Suzanne Chambers AO is a registered nurse and health psychologist who worked in the non-government health care sector for over 30 years, before moving to the University sector in research intensive and leadership roles. She is currently the Executive Dean of Health Sciences at the Australian Catholic University. Suzanne has over 300 peer reviewed publications and numerous books, book chapters and monographs, is in the Stanford top 2% of scientists worldwide for oncology and clinical medicine and is the most published researcher internationally specifically to the cluster of prostate cancer/prostatectomy and quality of life. Alongside her research, Suzanne drives practice improvement in psycho-oncology services in Australia and internationally through resource development and training for health professionals. Suzanne was appointed an Officer in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AO) 2018 for distinguished service to medical research particularly in the area of psycho-oncology and to community health through patient care strategies to assist men with prostate cancer. She is the founder and President of Open Eyes Global an incorporated association registered with the Australian Charities and Not-For-Profits Commission that raises funds to provide customised eye prostheses to disadvantaged children in Nepal with retinoblastoma.
